Your clients’ saved cards: we request them
When you switch to Tersavia, we request the transfer of your clients’ stored cards from your current processor. It moves encrypted, processor to processor. Nobody at your front desk or ours sees a card number. Card-on-file clients, memberships and recurring billing come with you.
Your current processor controls the release. If your current platform won’t release them, ask them why, and get the answer in writing.
Request it before you cancel. On some platforms, cancelling closes the account that holds your cards.
If they refuse, nothing stops. Cards are collected at checkout as clients come in.
What moves cleanly
- Client records and contact details
- Appointment history
- Service menus and pricing
- Staff and provider setup
- Product catalog
- Package balances and membership status
- Treatment notes, formulas, and intake history
What doesn’t
Saved cards, only if your current processor refuses. We request the transfer; your processor controls the release. If they decline, cards are collected at checkout as clients come in.
Your dedicated text number — maybe. Whether it comes with you depends entirely on your current vendor. Ask before you give notice, and ask in writing.
Room and resource configuration. Rarely exports from anywhere. Budget an afternoon to rebuild it rather than assuming it transfers.
Two traps worth knowing before you give notice
These are platform-specific and they cost money rather than time. Both are worth checking whether or not you ever move to us.
Mindbody: a reported ~$500 fee to export your own data
Widely reported at cancellation and not disclosed when you sign — you meet it when you try to leave. Ask about it in writing before you give notice, so the figure is on record while you are still a customer. Also check your remaining term: agreements commonly run 24 months.
Fresha: import your client list before you go live on the marketplace
If your existing clients are not imported first, your own regulars can book as new accounts — and the 20% new-client commission applies as though you had never met them. Import, verify the list is complete, and only then switch marketplace visibility on. This one costs money directly, and multiple operators report being caught by it.
The question to ask your current vendor
Whether they will release your dedicated text number. It is printed on your signage and saved in your clients’ phones, and it is routinely the hardest thing to get back. Ask in writing, and ask before you give notice — the answer tends to be more helpful when you are still a customer.
Cancel once your import is verified
Keep your old system open until your import is verified, then cancel. Load your records into Tersavia, check the calendar with your own data in it, and cut over when it looks right. There is no contract on this end, so there is nothing to unwind if you change your mind.
Questions
What transfers when I switch booking platforms?
Client records, appointment history, service menus, staff, and your product catalog move cleanly. Package balances, memberships, and treatment notes come across during setup. Your clients’ saved cards can come too: we request the transfer from your current processor, which controls the release.
What should I ask my current vendor before I cancel?
Whether they will release your dedicated text number. It is on your signage, on your car, and saved in your clients’ phones, and it is usually the hardest thing to get back. Ask in writing, and ask before you give notice rather than after.
How do cards on file get handled?
We request them from your current processor. They move encrypted, processor to processor, and are matched to each client. If your processor won’t release them, cards are collected at checkout as clients come in.
When should I cancel my old system?
After your import is verified. Keep your old system open until your records are in Tersavia and the calendar looks right, then cancel. Request your saved cards before you cancel.
What does it cost to leave Tersavia later?
Nothing. No contract, no cancellation fee, and your client list exports in a format you can actually use. We would rather you be able to leave than be locked in.
